COVID-19 ANTIBODY TESTING: FAQS
What is the test and how does it work?
The test is an antibody test that indicates past exposure to COVID-19. It is NOT a test for acute infection. Blood is drawn at Catalyst and sent to a lab, and results are sent back 2-4 days later.
Who qualifies for testing?
The COVID-19 antibody test is available to both established and new patients with a scheduled office visit. Patients need to have a visit with a provider (can be in person or via telemedicine) to determine if they are a candidate for antibody testing based on their history.
Note: this cannot be done as a lab-only appointment.
How much does it cost?
The test is billed to the patient’s insurance, via the testing lab. Most insurance companies are covering the test, but we encourage patients to contact their insurance company to determine coverage.
